He Theo enrolled to do engineering at Sydney University, but an accident left him with impaired eyesight and he switched to the Sydney Tech and completed a course in Mechanical Drawing. He worked for the Water Board. He was engaged to Irene Hanson
but it was broken and he never married. He lived at the family home, 'Glenophir' in Burwood, with his mother until her death in 1936. Theo was a member of Burwood Methodist, a circuit steward and sang tenor in the choir. He was appointed
General Manager of Hunt Bros Lts in 1930.¹ He was Methodist.

He Lived at Latrobe Tce, Newtown, Geelong. One of the founders of the Self-Reliance Tent, Geelong. Prominent member of the Methodist church, a local preacher and trustee at Yarra-street and Chilwell. Director of Western Beach Sea Bathing Co.
Member of the Protestant Orphanage. Carried on a business in Little Malop St. Came to Geelong in 1851 at age 24. Second President of Methodist Local Preachers Ass of Vic in 1873. He Set up a bakery in Geelong, VIC, and later a general store. A member of the Geelong Municipal Council. He Thomas was in partnership with his brother, George Thomas Hunt, as Hunt Bros in the purchase of the property, 'Burdenda' at Tottenham NSW in 1873. At the time the property was sold in 1989, ten of the shareholders were descendents of Thomas and
Sarah.¹ He was Methodist.

Thomas Barber Yates Hunt married Gladys Lilla Alice Vidler. He was born in 1895. He was the son of Thomas Hunt and Lilla Ellen Hunt. He died in 1966. He Served in WW1 in D Troop, A squadron, 7th Light Horse 2nd Brigade. Same squadron as his cousin George Thomas Hunt (my grandfather). According to tradition, Yates father was against him enlisting and sent him to Qld on a droving expedition, but
Yates was determined. After WW1 he returned to a new property by Burdenda which he called Nuran.¹

He was christened on 3 April 1794 at St Stephens, Coleman St, London, UK, .¹ He was a Harness Maker.² He died on 9 January 1865 at Dural, NSW, Australia.³ He was buried at Wesleyan (now Uniting) Cemetery, Dural, NSW, Australia.² He arrived in Sydney 31 Oct 1817 on the 'Almorah'. William was exactly 6 feet tall. Very tall for that time. Black hair, hazel eyes and a sallow complection. He sailed from London on 26 April 1817 after his brother, Richard, had already arrived in Australia. The Almorah was on its maiden voyage. It was the first ship to arrive at Port Jackson without loss of life on the journey. William did not land in Sydney but kept going to Hobart, arriving on 11 September 1817. Very little is known of William's activities in Tasmania. He was a harness maker by trade so probably worked as one during his imprisonment. According to William's death certificate he spent 10 years in Tasmania and 33 in NSW, but this is about 5 years out. He was given his ticket of leave in 1822 and applied for land in Tasmania. With respect to the 'missing 5 years', it appears William might have gone to George Town, on the north coast of Tasmania, Tamar River area. He applied for land on 6 Feb 1822 perhaps at Westbury near Launceston. There are slender indications that he lived with or near Richard Hunt in Gundagai. The 1841 census hints that William was living at Dural with Richard and land purchases by both brothers in Gundagai suggest he may have lived there for a time. In later years he lived with his nephew, George Thomas Hunt, and died there at Dural. For some time before his death he suffered from epilepsy.^3,1

William Thomas Hunt was born on 5 October 1843. He was the son of George Thomas Hunt and Elizabeth Williams. He was christened on 25 December 1843. He married Mary Ann Stanbury, daughter of John Stanbury and Mary Waddell, on 26 December 1865 at Wesleyan Church, Baulkham Hills, NSW, . He & Mary lived in Galston Road, Dural, on a property which had been part of George Thomas's land. The house stood where Swain's Nursery is now located. According to "These Walls of Time" he disappeared with a servant girl, at a time unknown (possibly 1892 - aged 69) , and went to Victoria and raised a second family (details not known). His name became taboo for generations.
New research by Margo Houghton reveals that he remarried Mary FULLER, a local Dural woman, before Alice Mabel's birth, moved to Melbourne, and changed his name to RUSSELL. Also as he registered the births of this second family he sometimes lists his name as William Thomas, and sometimes just Thomas.^1,2 He married Mary Fuller, daughter of Thomas Fuller and Susanna Plunkett, on 10 September 1873 at Baulkham Hills, NSW, Australia.² As of 1875, William Thomas Hunt was also known as William Thomas Russell.² He died on 27 July 1908 at Heathcote, Victoria, Australia, at age 64.²
